The Utilization of Secondary -school Health Clinic in Seoul


Abstract
To measure the emergency health problems among secondary school students the author analyzed the records of health clinic at 8 secondary schools in seoul, during the school term in 1975. And measure the time for 1 week to know the proportion of time allocated for health problem solving in nursing activity.
The results were follows:
1) A school nurse/school population ratio was 1/1834. 6
2) The average frequency of visits at clinic for a student in middle school girls and boys, high school girls and boys were 1.2, 1.3, 0.9, 1.0 per a year, resp¡þectively.
3) The proportion of time allocated for emergency health problem solving in nursing activity was.
4) Their main emergency health problems were, indigestion, injuries, headache showing 26.0%, 24.6%, 18. 8% respectively.
5) The highest proportion of utilization of health clinic in the high school boys were in the fall with 28.4%, and middle school boys and girls, high school girls were in the summer showing 36.8%, 34.2%, 36.0% respectively.
6) The average frequency of clinic utilization for a student by the school year. In the middle school, the boys and girls for the 1st grade were 1.1, 1, 1, and for the 2nd grade were 1.3, 1.5 for the 3rd grade were 1.6, 1.1 per a year respectively. And in the high school, the boys and girls for the lst grade were 0.7, 0.7, and for 2nd grade were 1.3, 0. 8 and for 3rd grade were 1.0, 1.2. per a year; respectively.
7) The highest proportion of utilization of health clinic in the middle school boys was Wednesday with 19.0%, while middle school girls and high school girls and boys were Monday showing 19.8%, 22.2%, 23.6% respectively.
